ScanAlert deploys on Resin Java application server

LA JOLLA, CA -- February 14, 2006 -- Caucho Technology, Inc., a leader in providing solutions to ensure high performance and reliability for large-scale Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) applications, today announced that ScanAlerthas deployed on Resin application server.

ScanAlert makes web sites secure from hackers and certifies site security through the HACKER SAFE® certification service. ScanAlert conducts daily security audits and certifies in real-time the security of more than 65,000 retailers, including Petco, Ritz Camera, Yankee Candle, and Warner Brothers. By alleviating consumers' fears of identity theft and credit card fraud, retailers that earn HACKER SAFE certification consistently see substantial increases in online transactions.

ScanAlert uses Resin to serve two critical public applications:

1. Interactive security audit reporting portal that allows customers to maintain the security of their network infrastructure.

2. To serve the patent-pending HACKER SAFE certification mark images to over one billion Internet shoppers in 226 countries worldwide every month.

Ben Tyler, VP of Engineering for ScanAlert said "Resin's performance and reliability allows us to help secure over 65,000 websites using a modest number of mid-range servers." Tyler continued, "As a security service provider certified by MasterCard and Visa it was vital that our underlying application server provide a secure platform for our customer facing applications. Resin consistently maintains the highest level of security when compared to other J2EE application servers."

Steve Montal, Director of Sales and Strategic Partnerships for Caucho Technology, Inc. said, “ScanAlert provides an invaluable service and certification that is vital to reassuring consumers about the security of online shopping.” Montal added, “We are delighted that ScanAlert has selected Resin as their application server.”

With numerous added features, increased speed and load balancing, Caucho Technology's Resin open source application server has earned an industry-wide reputation as a robust solution to the Java application challenges that web developers most often face. Caucho Technology has developed the protocols Burlap and Hessian to produce fast solutions for the rapidly expanding web services market. In December 2005, Caucho announced the addition of PHP to its list of supported features, where the PHP pages are compiled in the background to byte-code, and the resulting performance is four times that of Apache mod_php.
