LA JOLLA, CA — May 18, 2007 – Caucho® Technology, Inc. today announced significant new features added to Resin, a leading open source Java-PHP application server.
Resin 3.1.1 adds new administration features including a profiler as well as tools for obtaining thread dumps, heap dumps and cache statistics. New features also consist of a comprehensive URL rewriting facility, a candidate release of the Java Persistence API and continued enhancements to the Quercus Java-PHP engine.
“The tools for obtaining thread dumps, heap dumps and cache statistics are a notable enhancement to Resin. These new features are noteworthy and great care has been taken to enable them for production environments,” said Sam Heisz, Senior Engineer at Caucho® Technology.
Sam Heisz observed, “The profiler, in particular, runs with a low enough overhead that real sites in production can use it to troubleshoot their application and find critical performance bottlenecks.” Heisz added, “The profiling tool and the cache statistics reporting extend Resin’s philosophy of great performance to developers and system administrators and enables them to target critical performance-related areas of their applications.”
Caucho® Technology products include Quercus, a pioneering open source architecture for web applications and services where Java and PHP are tightly integrated with each other.
