LiveProcess deploys using Quercus Java-PHP architecture

LA JOLLA, CA -- June 7, 2007 -- Caucho Technology, Inc., a leading open source Java-PHP application server vendor, today announced that LiveProcess, the leader in emergency preparedness' planning for the healthcare industry, has selected Caucho's Resin and Quercus as their platform of choice.

LiveProcess, established in 2003, developed the first standardized software solution designed to help healthcare-related organizations prepare for and respond to emergencies. The LiveProcess platform provides a range of fully integrated tools to assist in emergency management including Hazard Vulnerability Analyses (HVAs), Incident Command System tools (ICS), Drills for Readiness & Compliance and Competency-Based Training.

David Berry, CTO of LiveProcess, said, “Quercus provides the best of both worlds. We get to use PHP, one of the most popular website building languages, for the front-end of our application and Java Enterprise Edition for the backend of our application." Berry observed, "We could not have taken our application to the next level without it.”

The LiveProcess platform takes advantage of the benefits of Caucho's Quercus Java-PHP architecture including multithreading, backgound tasks, event scheduling, Java Persistence and the ability to use Third-Party Java libraries or PHP libraries to solve problems.

"We are excited that LiveProcess selected Quercus as their Java-PHP solution," said Steve Montal, Co-Founder of Caucho Technology. "The LiveProcess platform is an ideal example of how the Quercus architecture can be used to solve the engineering challenge of combining PHP and Java effectively within one application," added Montal.

Caucho Technology products include Quercus, a pioneering open source architecture for web applications and services where Java and PHP are tightly integrated with each other. PHP applications can choose to use Java libraries and technologies like JMS, EJB, SOA frameworks, Hibernate, and Spring all within one application server. PHP applications running on Quercus are faster, easier to develop, more capable, more secure, and more scalable than any other PHP solution.

Caucho Technology has earned a reputation for supporting its products by a team of engineers devoted to quality customer service and a rapid bug fix and feature request program. Caucho has over 6,500 customers including CNet, Salesforce and KodakGallery whose mission critical applications rely on Resin application server.
