Hessian offers fast client/server communication to JavaFX developers

LA JOLLA, CA -- June 28, 2007 -- Caucho Technology, Inc., a leading open source Java-PHP application server vendor, today announced a new approach to client/server network communication in JavaFX programs using the Hessian protocol.

Hessian is Caucho Technology's fast, compact, and efficient web services and serialization protocol. Used for years in both production and development environments with implementations in several languages including Java, C#, Ruby, PHP, and Python, Hessian has proved itself to be a versatile and powerful alternative to other web services technologies.

JavaFX is a new technology offering web developers a powerful user interface that is tightly integrated with Java. This exciting emerging development platform can now leverage Hessian's efficient networking protocol to ensure fast communication between clients and servers for engaging rich Internet applications (RIAs).

Emil Ong, Software Engineer at Caucho Technology, observed, "JavaFX allows developers to create captivating Rich Internet Applications (RIA's), but those applications need speed and efficiency because of server load and user experience considerations." Ong added, "The emerging JavaFX development community now has an fast and compact network protocol for client/server communication. Hessian makes it easy for developers to meet the requirements of RIA's."

"The JavaFX platform can be used to create visually stunning user interfaces and will attract developers with many different levels of proficiency in network communications. Those users with less experience need an easy to learn interface such as the one offered by the Caucho Hessian implementation," said Ong. Caucho Technology is working with the JavaFX community by providing tutorials on client/server communication using Hessian and giving suggestions for best practices in this emerging environment.

Caucho Technology products include Quercus, a pioneering open source architecture for web applications and services where Java and PHP are tightly integrated with each other. PHP applications can choose to use Java libraries and technologies like JMS, EJB, SOA frameworks, Hibernate, and Spring all within one application server. PHP applications running on Quercus are faster, easier to develop, more capable, more secure, and more scalable than any other PHP solution.

Caucho Technology has earned a reputation for supporting its products by a team of engineers devoted to quality customer service and a rapid bug fix and feature request program. Caucho has over 6,500 customers including CNet, Salesforce and KodakGallery whose mission critical applications rely on Resin application server.
