LA JOLLA, CA — September 5, 2008 – Caucho® Technology, Inc., a leading open source Java-PHP application server vendor, today announced that Emil Ong, the company’s Chief
Evangelist, will be giving a presentation on Quercus at the JavaZone conference in Oslo, Norway on September 17, 2008. JavaZone is Scandinavia’s largest developer conference.

Quercus is Caucho’s 100% Java implementation of the PHP language and libraries. Popular applications such as WordPress, Drupal, and MediaWiki are part of the vast base of PHP applications which Quercus brings to the Java platform. Quercus is a high performance implementation of PHP that meets or exceeds the performance of the C PHP implementation with common applications. By leveraging the reliability of Java application servers like Caucho’s Resin, PHP applications automatically acquire many of the features necessary for enterprise-readiness.

Clustering, integration with Java, performance, and an inside look at how Quercus works will be
featured in the presentation. In addition to giving a technology overview, Ong will also discuss the benefits that Quercus has for developers, users of Quercus-based websites, and enterprise customers. Case studies of Quercus being used in deployment will be presented to show how companies including LiveProcess, the leader
in emergency preparedness’ planning for the healthcare industry, have taken advantage of using a combined Java-PHP architecture.

“I’m excited to be able to speak at this year’s JavaZone,” said Emil Ong, Chief Evangelist of Caucho® Technology. Ong added, “JavaZone is a perfect venue for us to talk about Quercus because the technology is targeted at the enterprise and the attendees are familiar with the issues that can come up in large scale deployments. Quercus is rapidly growing in popularity, so this will be a great opportunity for some of the best Java developers in Scandinavia and the world to become familiar with the benefits of using Quercus.”

Steve Montal, CEO of Caucho® Technology, said “We look forward to participating in JavaZone this year. Quercus has become more stable, faster, and widely adopted in the three years since its release. Emil Ong’s presentation will not only explain the fundamentals, but will also highlight exciting recent developments in Quercus.” Montal continued, “As we celebrate Caucho’s 10th anniversary this year, our company continues to focus on industry leading technologies including Quercus, Resin, and Hessian.”

Caucho® Technology has earned a reputation for supporting its products by a team of engineers devoted to quality customer service and a rapid bug fix and feature request program. Caucho® has over 8,500 customers whose mission critical applications rely on Resin application server.
