ePeoplePlace deploys on Resin application server
LA JOLLA, CA -- January 13, 2003 -- Caucho® Technology, Inc. today announced that ePeoplePlace, a community meeting web site produced by Advanced Web Projects will deploy on Resin application server.
Caucho® Technology produces Resin, a leading application server with the fastest servlet and JSP engine. Resin is used by thousands of corporate, education and government clients including the Toronto Stock Exchange, Salesforce.com, EBay's half.com and AltaVista.
Tom Bloomfield, CTO of Advanced Web Projects said, "We currently use Resin as the servlet container for ePeoplePlace, and plan to scale Resin as the site grows." Bloomfield added, "Our site can handle an estimated 300,000 member profiles under nominal load, so we're estimating one server per every 100,000 users, primarily due to the massive data storage and traffic we require. In evaluating application servers, we found Resin to provide the best performance, scalability and most cost effective solution in the market."
ePeoplePlace provides a centralized location for members to meet, email,
chat and instant message other users in a safe, secure environment. Members
may search or browse member profiles, and view pictures, reflections, and
