“It’s things like this, the excellent technical support, and the general feeling of ‘good people’ that keeps us as customers. We have had people in upper management asking why we don’t use JBoss…there’s just no comparison. You’ve gone above and beyond, so thank you.”

Reza Rahman to present Java EE 6 overview at TheServerSide Java Symposium 2010
Caucho® engineer Reza Rahman will discuss the Java EE 6 platform, including recent changes such as dropping several outdated APIs, breaking up of a monolithic platform into profiles and adding generic dependency injection. The presentation will explore these changes from a high level to individual APIs with code examples. Most of the important APIs included in Java EE 6 to be discussed are:

  • Managed beans
  • Dependency Injection for Java (JSR-330)
  • Contexts and Dependency Injection for Java EE (JSR-299)
  • EJB 3.1
  • JSF 2.0
  • JPA 2.0
  • JAX-RS
  • Servlet 3.0
  • Bean Validation API (JSR-303)
Reza Rahman to present “A Quick Tour of Contexts and Dependency Injection for Java EE” at TheServerSide Java Symposium 2010
In another important conference session, Reza Rahman will give a hands-on tour of Contexts and Dependency Injection for Java EE (JSR-299), including demos of major features using CanDI, Caucho’s independent JSR-299 implementation. The session will cover features such as:

  • Basic injection
  • Scoping
  • Qualifiers/Naming
  • Producers/Disposers
  • Stereotypes
  • Interceptors/Decorators
  • Using EJB 3 services in managed beans instead of EJBs

Reza will discuss the relationship between this critical Java EE 6 API covering generic dependency injection services and the rest of the platform. This includes Dependency Injection for Java (JSR-330), managed beans, EJB 3.1, JSF 2 and JPA 2.

Caucho® opens new engineering office in San Francisco today to expand our development of Resin and Quercus!

Resin REST Administration Interface
Resin 4.0.2, now available for download, features a new REST interface to the Resin administration application that allows grabbing server and application data in external monitoring applications. In a much read blog post by Emil Ong, he gives an overview of the REST interface, how to write REST resources using PHP and Quercus, and even how to integrate with Nagios. Read more about Resin REST Admin Interface.
