LA JOLLA, CA — May 22, 2009 – Caucho® Technology, Inc., a leading open source Java-PHP application server vendor, announced today that Caucho® engineer Emil Ong will be presenting a session at JavaOne entitled “How to Run PHP Faster by Using Java” Technology.”
Ong’s session will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 4:40-5:40pm. He will present Quercus: Caucho’s 100% Java implementation of PHP language and libraries. Popular applications such as WordPress, Drupal, and MediaWiki are part of the vast base of PHP applications which Quercus brings to the Java platform. The incredibly fast Quercus is 2-8 times faster than traditional C implementation of PHP. By leveraging the reliability of Java application servers like Caucho’s Resin, PHP applications automatically acquire many of the features necessary for enterprise-readiness.
Caucho’s presence at JavaOne will also include:
- Booth #507 with many Caucho® engineers, including Chief Architect Scott Ferguson, present at the conference
- Resin 4.0 and Quercus technology showcase at Caucho’s booth
- Caucho® JavaOne party on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 5-9pm at Chevy’s next to the Moscone Center
Caucho® will present new product developments during JavaOne. The recently released Resin 4.0 features JavaEE compatibility along with CanDI (JSR-1299) Java Contexts and Dependency Injection, Cloud computing support, Quercus, Google App Engine support and Resin 10,000 simultaneous connections, which provides developers with greater flexibility and significant performance improvements.
Steve Montal, Co-Founder of Caucho® Technology said, “We have been involved with JavaOne for almost a decade and look forward to participating this year, especially with the recent release of Resin 4.0.” Montal added, “Resin 4.0 is the ideal open source productivity tool for developers. We look forward to presenting the benefits of Resin 4.0 including Cloud Computing, Distributed Caching, PHP on the JVM and CanDI to our friends in the Java community.”
