LA JOLLA, CA – August 3, 2010 – Caucho® Technology, the Open Source Web Profile leader for Java EE, today announced version 4.0.9 of its popular Resin application server featuring improved reliability and scalability for Resin core capabilities.
Resin 4.0.9 core performance features include:
- Organizing core Resin startup code for better startup timing
- Replacing synchronization with atomic operations
- Enhancing watchdog and cluster authentication
Resin 4.0.9 introduces extensive improvements and enhancements to core capabilities pertaining to reliability, security, and scalability. This version focused on enhancing the reliability of cloud features including synchronizing core triad cloud server messaging to provide consistency across cloud services. Resin 4.0.9 delivers much anticipated reliability and timing related features by replacing locks with atomic operations and improved Resin startup code.
Combined with the cluster cloud heartbeat, applications will have a direct and constant source for service priority. Tightening communication between networks of servers ensures quality scaling of applications without compromising performance. At the same time, the security of clustered deployments is improved by Resin 4.0.9 through a new authentication mechanism for server-to-server communication.
Emil Ong, Caucho’s Chief Evangelist said, “We’ve been extremely focused on the Web Profile certification but are also sensitive to making sure many important aspects of Resin are continually being improved.” Ong added, “One area is our dynamic cloud support. Low level features including timing, locking and synchronization are critical to cloud and virtualized deployments.”
“Our improvements and features are directly influenced by our customers demands,” said Steve Montal, Caucho® CEO and Co-Founder. Montal adds “With commitments to developers and through customer base and community support, we aim to deliver a highly demanded and efficient certified Web Profile application server.”
Resin, Caucho’s Open Source Java application server, features the Hessian serialization protocol and Quercus Java-PHP solutions.
