Resin 4 was the first Java EE Web Profile certified Java application server. Resin 4 was built from the ground up around Java Dependency Injection (CDI). Resin is over 13 years old, yet it has kept up with the times. Resin 4 has been optimized to work in cloud computing environments like Amazon EC2.

Resin’s health system goes beyond Java Monitoring. It does not just watch, it can respond. Resin Health System monitors the entire OS that Resin is running on. You can configure rules which consist of conditions and actions. Once a certain limit is met, action are triggered like server restart with post mortem analysis. Resin’s administration and health monitoring tools provide statistics, PDF reports, troubleshooting and application management. It is everything you need to manage your Resin servers.

Resin ships with a cluster aware load balancers that can effectively and efficiently distributed load automatically to new server entering the cluster, and also integrates with hardware load balancers. Resin is controllable and scriptable via REST, JMX and CLI. You can setup a complete cloud of Resin application servers in any IaaS environment in a matter of moments. Adding new servers to the cloud is extremely simple. Services are completely elastic, non-chatty and efficient. It just works.
