November Updates
Reza Rahman, member of the Java EE 6 and Java EJB 3.1 expert groups, joins Caucho’s engineering team
Reza has worked with Java EE since the mid-nineties developing in many platforms including Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, WebSphere and WebLogic. His experience in enterprise systems includes the e-commerce, publishing, financial and telecommunications industries. He is the co-author of EJB 3 in Action and a frequent speaker at world-wide industry conferences and Java User Groups (JUG).

Reza’s interest in distributed systems, messaging, middleware and persistence led him to join Caucho’s core engineering team and help expand our technology outreach program. We are proud to have Reza be a part of the Caucho team! Be on the look out for Reza at your next Java related event.

Reza Rahman’s presentations a success at TheServerSide Java Symposium in Europe
Reza Rahman presented: “EJB 3.1: A Preview” and “Integrating EJB 3 and Spring” last week at TheServerSide Java Symposium in Prague to enthusiastic developers. There was a great deal of interest in EJB 3.1 and on how Caucho is implementing the Java EE Web Profile. Developers were also excited by Caucho’s work on CanDI (JSR-299) and the scalability architecture of Resin’s Cloud Computing support. Read Caucho’s press release about Reza’s presentations at TSSJS-Europe.

New Features
Quercus now features a command line interface (CLI)
In Resin 4.0.2, you can run Quercus on the command line prompt as a standard application as opposed to having Quercus run on top of an application server. The command-line interface (CLI) is easier to use than the javax.script API that comes with Java 1.6. The CLI behaves similarly to PHP’s CLI. Read more about Quercus CLI.
