GZIP, Hessian and Spring

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to all three technologies (GZIP, hessian and Spring) and
was wondering if there is any way to compress the data going across the
wire when using hessian and spring. I searched the archives and found
that a new feature request has been posted but couldn't work out whether
or not this feature had been added to hessian and/or spring. With the
current network infrustructure that I have to work with in Zimbabwe, line
speeds are restricted to 9.6, so it's imperative that I find a way to
achieve compression. Any information, documents, tested solutions would
be appreciated. Also, if we add SSL into the mix, how much, if anything,
changes.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew Peirson.
