The number of Apache sites can be found by looking at www.netcraft.com and
clicking web site survey. Apache should be declared ready for Windows by
the Apache foundation when 2.0 is out of Beta.

Apache runs on windows. Windows has its own scalability concerns however.

Apache is modular. You take out the parts you don't need, or don't
configure
them.

Apache has also been proven on very very very very very large sites that do
more
traffic than most countries have..
