Since you are running Solaris, making sure you have the latest patch levels
for all your system software is very important. There have been a few
fixes in both the recommend patch set, and specific patches for thread
issues with the standard thread library. libthread.

Again try and reproduce this is a non-production environment, and apply the
OS patches on the development machine to first see if there is any negative
functional impact, then apply the patches to production, and you might see
your problem magically disappear.

If you have had core files generated, do you get a chance to see what "BUG
ID" comes up ? Or does it not get that far?
