Porting custom authenticator classes from Tomcat 4.x to Resin

Hey folks,

First of all I should ask whether anyone knows of an existing standard
or JSR for custom servlet authenticators... I couldn't find one
anyway.

I have a custom authenticator designed for Tomcat 4.x (extends
org.apache.catalina.realm.JDBCRealm) that I'd like to port to Resin.
Does anyone have any tips on this process?
